turning japanese-SAH. (part 1)
So I’ve had this book for almost 4 years now, which is a book on teaching you how to learn Japanese. It’s actually called Japanese for Busy People. I’ve been meaning to build up myself to spend a week or so going through it and of course, learn Japanese. I also plan to download the program Rosetta Stone, which apparently teaches people from NASA other languages.
Why Japanese? because they’re probably the most interesting people and at the same time, the most traditional, and conservative people of all time, and of course, the most bizarre.
The Japanese probably produce like 50 different game shows every year, and I don’t know who comes up with it, but it’s damning entertaining and hilarious. One reason to learn! to participate in that stuff. haha. Example: (http://attuworld.nl/grappig/achtbaan-met-stokjes.html) Okay, maybe not. These types of videos are all over. Thank you internet.
Alright, let’s get serious. I think one of the most useful things you can do in your life-time is learning another language. I’ve of course chose Japanese. It has been something I’ve wanted since I graduated elementary school and realized that I wanted to be an Architect. Japan has some sick buildings and the environment that’s appealing to me. Alot of the culture and fashion are what inspire my own designs. I know a few people who’ve been to Japan and some that live there, and the pictures there are gorgeous. It is my best interest to reach Japan by Summer ‘10. I’ll think of it as a graduation present to myself, and hopefully I can bring my girlfriend with me. Twelve months to go, $2000 to $4000 to save. Eep.
So, since I’m currently unemployed, I’ll try to spend the next few weeks to months documenting my progress. It’ll be kind of hard to keep this updated without my own computer T_T. But I’ll try. It’s time to turn Japanese! Gambate!
